New York Concerts: Last Week of March, 2012

There’s always something to see in NYC. Here are our top concert picks for New York this week.

Sun Records is celebrating its 60th Golden Anniversary bash at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill on Tuesday, March 27th. The celebration will feature headliner Robert Gordon, a living legend of the rockabilly era that gave birth to American rock as we know it. He’ll be joined by the cast of  the rock history musical Million Dollar Quartet.

From the history of rock to one of its biggest stars of the present, Tuesday will also see international sensation Gotye play a show at Webster Hall. The Belgian-Australian songsmith has been making waves Stateside after dominating the European charts with his album Making Mirrors.

Noisy, dreamy rockers The Joy Formidable are coming to Terminal 5 on Wednesday, March 28th. Their most recent record The Big Roar has been delighting fans of the loud end of the shoegaze spectrum since its release late last year.

Swervedriver reunited in 2008 and have popped in and out of tours ever since. They’ll be at the Bowery Ballroom on Saturday, March 31st in the middle of their current run of U.S. shows.
